We have included 3 levels of fasting so that you can choose your level of commitment based on health and experience.
We will start at 12:01 AM Wednesday, February 22 and end 12:01 AM Sunday, April 9.
Beginners - first time fasting or have health issues that preclude long periods without food - omit one meal daily.
Intermediate - have fasted previously and want to move further in the discipline - can only consume food within the same 8-hour window each day, i.e. 11-7, 1-9.
Advanced - have experienced extended fasts previously - no food with a single day every 7 days where a single meal is allowed.
Be sure to increase your daily water intake by a MINIMUM of 3 glasses during the fast. If you must drink juice, drink an unprocessed, no sugar added option. For beginners, if you experience any light-headedness, try eating a handful of nuts and drink some juice and move to omitting a meal every other day.
Understand that mental discipline is important to complete the fast, but listen to your body.
Set aside the money you would normally spend on the missing meals, and we will make a donation to an area food bank with our collective funds. Set aside some time daily (ideally at the same time) to focus and pray for those we are going to help at the end of this fast.
